Principal Shannon Schneider

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

Dear Foothills Families,

I hope this email finds you enjoying a wonderful summer, full of laughter and time to connect with those you love. As we prepare to embark on another wonderful school year, I would like to take a moment to share our direction for the 24/25 school year.

I have two values that encompass the work I do- my commitment to every child experiencing a sense of belonging and instructional excellence for all learners. At Foothills we believe that all students should have an excellent experience and this starts with relationships. Every student entering Foothills Elementary school will be loved, safe, and respected. We strive to support your child's emotional, social, and academic growth in a personalized manner.

All students deserve a quality education that meets their individual academic needs; I call this instructional excellence. We are committed to achieving grade level mastery for all children. When we plan engaging and meaningful lessons for kids we develop curious, motivated, and excited learners. Your partnership is essential and will assist your student in experiencing academic success now and in the future.

Our work this year will continue our focus on early literacy mastery for grades PK-2 and grade level literacy mastery for grades 3-5. We will be in year two of implementing our new math resource, Illustrative Math, and we will continue working on fine tuning our instruction. In addition, we will continue to focus on every student feeling a sense of belonging and community at Foothills Elementary School.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time reading, hiking, skiing, cycling, and spending time with my family. I have been married for 25 years and my husband attended Dunstan Middle School and graduated from Green Mountain High School. I have a 22 year old son who attends the University of Colorado, Boulder and a 21 year old daughter who attends the University of California, Berkeley.

I am honored to serve you, your child, and this community. Elementary schools are the ‘hub’ of a community and I would like you to know that you are always welcome at Foothills. Please don’t hesitate to contact me, or the main office at any time over the course of the 24/25 school year with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We are better together!

Kind regards,

Shannon Schneider
