Meet the Principal

Principal Shannon Schneider
Welcome to the 2025/2026 school year, Foothills students and families!
I am so excited to begin my third year as principal of THE BEST elementary school on the planet! Our staff and community have worked incredibly hard to enhance student learning, foster a strong sense of belonging, and improve attendance. Our efforts are truly visible, and I am so proud of what we've accomplished together.
Recently, our district shared a graphic that perfectly captures what I value and what we strive to embody at Foothills. We believe that every student deserves an excellent experience, and that begins with strong relationships, a sense of love, and a welcoming community. To ensure all students are ready for grade-level work, we will continue to focus on high expectations and academic rigor this year. A key part of this effort is our continued push for all kindergarten through second-grade students to master early literacy skills.
When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my son, daughter, and my husband of 26 years. My son is finishing a double major in business and sustainability at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and my daughter just graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in environmental science. Now that my children are largely independent, I have more time to read, grow tomatoes (poorly!), and enjoy some creative projects.
Serving as principal at Foothills Elementary School is an honor I don’t take lightly. I find joy in serving your children, our dedicated staff, and this wonderful community. This work requires strong collaboration and partnership, and I want you to know that I welcome and value your feedback and suggestions. We are better when we work together! GO FALCONS!
With gratitude,
Shannon Schneider, Principal
