Fourth Grade

Snack:

• Please send your student with a healthy, small snack that can be eaten in 5 minutes. 

• Please send your student with silverware if needed. 

• Please NO candy, cookies or large bags of chips

• Students are not allowed to share snacks 

• ONLY DRINK ALLOWED is water 

Fidgets/toys:

• Please no fidgets or toys brought to school unless previously discussed and approved by teachers.

• Appropriate sensory tools will be provided by teachers or staff when needed or previously discussed with family.

Homework:

• Read 20-30 minutes daily (this could be read aloud too!)- reading logs will go home at the start of each month and need to be returned at the beginning of the next month

• Practice Math facts daily for 5-10 minutes-see links for practice on website or google classroom

• Math practice pages will come home on Monday of each week. It is due on Friday (please check homework folder)

• Unfinished work will come home by need (please check homework folder)

Planners: 

• Every student will be given a planner at the start of the year

• All planners should be initialed daily by an adult family member and returned the following day

• In planner, students will write upcoming dates, specials rotations and what we are working on each week

• Student is responsible for writing in their planner and asking an adult to sign it each day- you may need to help remind them the first few weeks of school!

We are so excited to be working with our 4th grade students this year! Please be aware that we use research-based, data-driven flexible grouping for all students which means they may have different teachers for different subjects throughout the day. Any questions regarding your student should be directed to the homeroom teacher and we will discuss with the appropriate content teacher and will get back to you with the appropriate information. We are so excited to help your student SOAR at Foothills this year!
